1. What are cookies and similar technologies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. We also use related technologies such as pixels (small graphic images, sometimes called “web beacons”), tags, software development kits, and browser local storage. Cookies may be “first-party” (set by us) or “third-party” (set by a service provider we permit), and “session” (deleted when you close your browser) or “persistent” (remaining until they expire or you delete them).

2. Why we use them

We use these technologies to operate and secure the Services, remember your preferences, understand how the Services are used so we can improve them, and (where applicable) to measure the effectiveness of our marketing. We do not use cookies to collect Social Security numbers or financial-account numbers.

• Strictly necessary — required for core functionality, security, fraud prevention, and load balancing. These are always active and cannot be switched off in our systems.
• Performance and analytics — collect aggregated, often de-identified information about how visitors use the Services (e.g., which pages are viewed and how the tools perform) so we can improve them. Typical duration: session to up to 24 months.
• Functional — remember choices you make (such as a city you entered) to provide a more personalized experience. Typical duration: session to 12 months.
• Targeting and measurement — used to measure marketing performance and, where applicable, to support advertising. These are subject to your opt-out and to GPC. Typical duration: session to 13 months.

4. Third-party technologies

Certain analytics, tag-management, consent-management, and advertising/measurement technologies are operated by service providers that may set their own cookies and process data subject to their own privacy policies. A current, itemized list of the specific cookies and technologies in use, with their providers and durations, is available through our on-site cookie preferences tool, which we keep updated as our configuration changes.

5. How to control cookies

• On-site cookie preferences — manage non-essential categories at any time through our cookie settings.
• Browser controls — most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies and notify you when one is set; refer to your browser’s help. Blocking some cookies may affect functionality.
• Global Privacy Control (GPC) — we treat a GPC signal as a valid opt-out of the sale/sharing of personal information.
• Industry opt-outs — for interest-based advertising you may use the Digital Advertising Alliance (optout.aboutads.info), the Network Advertising Initiative (optout.networkadvertising.org), and, on mobile, your device’s advertising-ID controls.

6. Do-Not-Track

Because there is no finalized common standard for “Do-Not-Track” signals, we do not respond to DNT. We do honor GPC as described above.
